With the approval of the General Department of Defense Industry and the Ministry of National Defense, Factory Z121 (21 Chemical One Member Company Limited) has officially participated in the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2025 (DIFF 2025)—a large-scale international cultural and tourism event that brings together many of the world’s leading fireworks teams.

DIFF 2025 takes place from May 31 to July 12 under the theme “Da Nang – A New Era,” featuring 10 competing teams—two more than in previous years. Vietnam is represented by two teams: Vietnam Team 1 (Da Nang) and Vietnam Team 2 (Factory Z121). This marks the first time Factory Z121—the only unit in Vietnam authorized to legally manufacture and distribute fireworks—has taken part in an international fireworks art competition.

Affirming the pioneering position of Vietnam’s Defense fireworks

According to Lieutenant Colonel Trần Mạnh Hùng, Party Secretary and Chairman of 21 Chemical One Member Company Limited, Factory Z121’s participation in DIFF 2025 is a significant milestone, reflecting its transition from research and manufacturing to designing and performing modern artistic fireworks displays.

With more than half a century of construction and development, Z121 has firmly established its pioneering role in Vietnam’s fireworks sector—not only in serving national defense missions, but also in making meaningful contributions to cultural life, tourism development, and international exchange.

The determination-to-win spirit of the Z121 Team at DIFF 2025

Vietnam Team 2 – Factory Z121 consists of 11 officers, workers, and technicians, led directly by Senior Colonel Trần Thanh Sơn, Deputy Director of the Factory. The team will compete against Poland on the night of June 7, under the theme “The Art of Creativity.”

Throughout the preparation period, the entire factory and the team have worked tirelessly to overcome challenges, focusing on training, testing, and refining every technical detail to deliver a performance that is both highly artistic and absolutely safe.

Speaking ahead of the competition, Lieutenant Colonel Trần Mạnh Hùng emphasized:

“Both the factory as a whole and each team member clearly recognize our responsibility and are determined to achieve the highest possible results—thereby helping to spread the image of the heroic soldier of the Vietnam People’s Army: disciplined, creative, resilient, and internationally integrated.”

This marks an important step in the journey to elevate the Z121 – Ministry of National Defense fireworks brand into a symbol of light, trust, and aspiration, reflecting Vietnam’s determination to rise and thrive in the new era.
