During the peak period of intensified inspections and enforcement against violations related to the trading and use of fireworks ahead of the Lunar New Year, Hà Nội authorities have uncovered and seized nearly 80 racks of fireworks lacking legal documentation at a business establishment in the city.

Large quantity of fireworks found on sale in violation of regulations

At 5:35 p.m. on December 22, 2025, a task force from the Administrative Police Department for Social Order (Hà Nội City Police), in coordination with Phù Đổng Commune Police, conducted an administrative inspection of Nguyễn Nam Electronics and Mobile Phone Store, located at Cầu Market, Trung Mầu Hamlet, Phù Đổng Commune, Hà Nội.

At the time of inspection, the store was operating a business selling electronics and mobile phones, while also displaying a considerable quantity of fireworks for sale. Specifically, authorities recorded:

• 47 racks of 25-shot fireworks labeled “sparkling fountain rack”
• 02 racks of 25-shot fireworks and 02 racks of 50-shot fireworks labeled “Single-Member Limited Liability Company Chemical 21 – Happy New Year”
• 18 boxes of 50-shot fireworks labeled “Happy New Year”
• 05 racks of 75-shot fireworks labeled as 75-piece gift boxes

However, during the inspection, the establishment was only able to present a household business registration certificate and failed to provide any invoices, receipts, or legal documents related to the trading of the above-mentioned fireworks.

Further verification and handling in accordance with the law

The task force prepared an inspection record and handed over all seized exhibits and related files to Phù Đổng Commune Police for further verification, clarification of the origin of the fireworks, and strict handling of any violations in accordance with the law. The case once again highlights that the illegal sale of fireworks without clear origin or proper documentation still occurs at some small retail establishments, especially during periods of increased shopping demand ahead of the Lunar New Year.
